The album cover with the "England's Newest Singing Sensations" and "Recorded in England" is testament to the cash-in on the British Invasion. E ven more "Madison Avenue" is their name (despite the fact they were from Hull) – Hullabaloo (note the spelling) was a common word in folk music circles which was popular at the time and also the name.

Signed to Roulette in the US, their UK records appeared on the Columbia label. They made numerous television appearances, most notably the Hullabaloo show. They recorded two albums: England's Newest Singing Sensations and On Hullabaloo (both ). Both albums are now available on a single CD.

Named after the city from which they hailed (Hull, England), the Hullaballoos formed in and had a brief career in which they enjoyed greater success in the U.S. than in their native homeland. The band was produced by Hugo & Luigi and appeared on U.S. television, most notably, "Hullabaloo".

This CD combines both of the Hullaballoos' albums onto one CD, handily summarizing this British Invasion footnote in one place (and just 51 minutes, although it contains 24 songs). The group plays like a cross between the Searchers and Gerry & the Pacemakers on amphetamines on most of their self-titled album, which includes both "I'm Gonna Love You Too" and "Did You Ever."/5(10).
